Here we are starting a new series called the TUNNEL PROJECT. In this video, I model the main tunnel and tracks and some of the assets along the sides of the tunnel. As always, some of this may change as the project progresses.

There are a number of considerations to keep in mind as we get into this. I am currently using arrayed instances for the tracks. While this cuts down on the number of polys, it also means that, for the most part (unless I make some instances "real"), each instance of the track will have the same texture. This may or may not be an issue. The same applies to the assets I model on the sides of the tunnel since I am joining and arraying them as one larger unit (not as instances, however).

In the next video, I will continue to model various parts of the tunnel. I envision a train of some sort coming directly towards the camera with the accompanying assets (electronics, pipes, lights, etc.) off to the sides and perhaps some small rubble (stones) along the tracks. We will see exactly what that will look like as we go on.
