On the evening of September 12, 2016, scientists, artists, philanthropists, and dignitaries gathered for a night of festivities at the American Museum of Natural History to honor the finalists and Laureates of the 2016 Blavatnik National Awards for Young Scientists.

The Master of Ceremonies and President of NYU, Andrew Hamilton, Ph.D., presided over the black-tie affair. The winners of the 2016 Blavatnik National Awards for Young Scientists were as follows: Life Sciences - Michael Rape, PhD; Chemistry - Phil Baran, PhD; Physical Sciences and Engineering - David Charbonneau, PhD.
