Welcome to the Kotlin Multiplatform Learning Series for Android Engineers.
In this video, we'll learn about how Composable functions are used as SwiftUI in the Shared UI version of the official tutorial.
Understanding this method is crucial as it allows us to share Composable functions across all platforms.
To use Composable functions on iOS, there are two steps.
The first step, as seen on the screen now, is wrapping the Composable function in ComposeUIViewController.
This creates a UIViewController with a Composable function.
iOS can access this Composable function by using the ComposeUIViewController created with Kotlin Multiplatform.
UIViewController is a class responsible for screen-level tasks, similar to Android's Activity.
Additionally, it provides reusability like Fragments.
The second step is converting the UIViewController into SwiftUI.
As shown on the screen now, the tutorial creates a SwiftUI called ComposeView using UIViewControllerRepresentable.
This method is also used when converting a UIViewController implemented in Swift into SwiftUI.
This conversion shows that ComposeView is accessed from ContentView, which is the parent in SwiftUI.
