[1] 00:00 The reason why I translated '意笔明心' to 'Confession through Art' - different translator may have a different interpretation towards the words '意笔明心', but to me, it means "将我的意念，通过我的画笔，向妳表明我的心意。", which means "through my thoughts (of you), via my paintbrush, I will convey my true feelings to you". But it's too long for a title so... yeah.

[2] 01:33 Not Marius' biological uncle. Wei Kang is Marius' butler, but Marius calls him 'Uncle' because they are close enough. It's an Asian thing to address people with titles like family members despite not biologically related.

[3] 02:36 It's 2031, everyone in Stellis is using 6G internet. Marius is just overly worried.

[4] 05:19 I happen to collect some jade with other gemstones, so let me share something! While it's common for jade to be in green, the translucent and flawless ones are of higher value. It's indeed quite difficult to look for jades bigger than the size of a comb that is translucent, with no impurities, or even cracks. It's a rare find regardless of color.

In CN/TW, Marius' dad didn't call him by his given name Jing He, but instead called him Xiao He (imagine something like Kei-chan for Izumi Kei). Thought of using Mari to make it sound cuter (and to match Austin's tone in CN) but Mari is more of a female name, so I settled with Mar for now. Please let me know if you have better suggestions!

[8] 23:34 Spoiler: Marius' mother passed away on the day she gave birth to Marius. It appears that her body has been weak but she insisted to give birth to Marius. This is revealed in CN/TW's Marius Birthday Event.

[9] 28:52 What Marius said is a Chinese idiom "结发同心，以梳为礼". '结发' usually means marriage/ tying the knot, '同心' means to have tacit/ the same heart, '以梳为礼' is pretty direct, 'using comb as a gift'. In ancient China, gifting a comb means there's an intention of deciding marriage, and to stay with you until you are old.

[10] 29:36 The act of gifting a comb means to be bound to you until you're old. There are also multiple sayings about combs: (1) portrays yearning towards the partner; (2) combs are items that you use daily, so it is an item close to you, representing being together until old; (3) combs also represent love, gifting a comb is also a token of love in the ancient times; and (4) in Chinese, hair is often also referred as 'strands of frustration', hence gifting a comb also means to brush your stress away, and untie the knot in your heart.

[11] 35:09 MC's final line is actually a reference from The Peony Pavilion (牡丹亭). It's a romantic tragicomedy play written by dramatist Tang Xianzu (汤显祖) in the late 16th century. It literally translates to 'I don't know where my feelings have originated, but it deepens as I go into it'.
