Shunting Tractor for Yeovil Town

Описание к видео Shunting Tractor for Yeovil Town

Half of the goods/coal yard of this ex-SR & GWR Joint station was accessed via the goods shed and 3 wagon turntables, and was initially shunted by horses and latterly by a modified farm tractor. So, for the station to be operated prototypically, the tractor and turntables have to work - making this an interesting project for a 2FS (2mm finescale) model.
This video is a test of the tractor in operation, clearing and repositioning wagons in the yard. The tractor needs an older-style body (and a less gargantuan driver), but this does prove the concept.
In its hey-day the real station received 3 goods trains a day and the yard would be stuffed full with wagons. This would have been a very modest shunt for then, but even so (and with the worst of the operator's pauses edited out), the sequence still runs for 20 minutes. My apologies for that, and my thanks for your patience.
My grateful thanks go to Andrew Hyatt (as always) for the camera work.
As you will see, the layout itself is still very much a work in progress.
