Things to do in Japan - Exploring Lake Suwa from anime movie - Your Name - Kimi no nawa 君に名は

We go around Lake Suwa, the lake used as reference in the widely-loved 2016 anime Your Name / Kimi no nawa / 君の名は.

You can also experience this phenomenon called “The Gods’ Crossing” which appears in winter when the ice forms ridges across the lake’s surface. The scene is out of this world. However, we didn't see this during our visit there as this is not predictable.

Go around the Suwa Lakeside Park
You can experience hot spring foot bath at the Kami-Suwa station or at the park
Watch the geyser show at Suwa Lake Geyser Center

How to go there:
Take limited express train from Shinjuku station to Kami-Suwa station via Chuo line. From Kami-Suwa station, it takes about 10 to 15 minute walk to Suwa Lakeside Park
