John says, "In 1979, I was working as a brakeman out of Revelstoke, BC. This video shows Winter on the Mountain Subdivision and a short piece during the Summer of the CP's no longer existing Okanagan Sub. You will see Glacier ( twice) and note the BC Rail boxcar getting a new set of trucks at that location, and the horrible Connaught Tunnel which I despised. We also have the Kicking Horse Canyon and the Stoney Creek Bridge with tons of snow everywhere. The title refers to views from the Cab of an SD40 and from the Cupola of a caboose. Thanks again to Peter Layland for digitizing my 8mm silent movies.
I am a huge railfan and former railway employee. My friend James, aka Skeena Pacific, compiles and edits the video clips I took of trips I made in an effort to capture trains across the World. He produced them into the series called "Travels With John". The title usually indicates the locations."
