Описание к видео Martin Mars Formation & Landing in Patricia Bay (Final Flight)

On August 11th, the Martin Mars made its final flight from Sprout Lake, BC to Patricia Bay, BC, located in the waters adjacent to the Victoria International Airport (YYJ). This location is home to the British Columbia Aviation Museum, which is its final resting place.

Officially known as the Hawaii Mars II, it was originally built and delivered to the United States Navy in April 1946 and then sold in 1959. After its retirement it sought a new use, fighting forest fires until its final retirement with Coulson Aviation in 2015.
