A way to support his family – one of the reasons why Jomar decided to go to sea. As the man within the family, he feels a responsibility to care for both his sister and his mother. Over the years, the obligation to go to sea has gone from a duty to a passion that he has learned to love. With the pride of his family behind him, he continues to work on board to not only provide a better life for his family but also to fulfill his dream – to open a café in the Phillipines!

#SEAFARERSWORLD - a social campaign for the Seafarers Mission Bremerhaven.

We are three students from Bremerhaven University of Applied Sciences and have made it our mission to give seafarers a voice. The goal of this campaign is to draw more attention to a topic that is so important to our everyday lives, but finds far too little space in it. That's why we want to use these interviews to show how seafarers' lives and daily work on the ship is and what significance the Seafarers Mission Bremerhaven has in their wellbeing.
