From laying out the fibres to wrapping the finished shade in protective wrap this gives an idea of what is involved in the hand-felted lampshades that I make and sell in a local gallery.

My lampshades include locally sourced wool that I have washed, dyed and drumcarded with some commercial fibres, including at times other British wools, flax, silk, viscose, angelina (sparkles) and sometimes nepps (tiny pieces of felted wool) . This process is not included in the video and nor is the cutting out of the pre-felt or the label making.
