Phantasy proudly introduces its landmark 150th single, courtesy of label mainstay James Welsh. First releasing on the label under the alias of Kamera, Welsh soon transitioned to his own name for a series of releases that combine esoteric house, bracing techno and a wide breadth of experimental influences, melding his background in both the hardcore and rave scenes.

Marking the first reverberations of an upcoming, uncompromisingly personal solo album, ‘Stove Goblin’ is a shimmering suite of IDM haunted by Welsh’s unique sound palette, where crushed channels of digital rhythm spaciously unfold with cinematic intent. Written as sonic catharsis, the single unfolds in the lineage of the forward-thinking electronic music that has long emerged from the region, forged in Leeds or Sheffield, echoing across the peaks and through the valleys that border Welsh’s studio.

'Stove Goblin' is accompanied by a stunning music video filmed by BAFTA award-winning director Kieran Evans.
