Lake District Camp Site Review: Side Farm 2/2

Side Farm camp site is between Ullswater and Place Fell. It's a great camp site with good facilities and a superb location.

The nearest village for food and supplies is Glenridding although at this time - spring 2016 - the Storm Desmond damage is very marked with a shop, cafe and hotel closed for repairs.

My favourite place to eat used to be The Traveller's Rest. I now much prefer the Patterdale Hotel which is far more spacious and relaxed. The Traveller's Rest is small, with not much outside seating, and after about 6.30 you're in shade while the hotel has garden sunshine for about another two hours.
