Peru x Egipto 2p FIVB Women's Junior 2011

To say that Peru enjoyed the home court advantage would be an understatement. Playing in the sold-out Gran Chimu Hall in Trujillo with more than 6,000 deafeningly loud fans cheering them on, Peru defeated Egypt 3-0 (25-18, 25-17, 25-16) on the opening day of the FIVB Volleyball Women's Junior World Championship in Peru 2011.

Feeding off of the energy of the adoring fans, Peru scored the first three points of the match, and seven of the first 10 points. Despite several serving errors, Peru maintained the lead the entire game, winning it on a kill by Brenda Daniela Uribe, her sixth point of the set. Egypt's Farida El Askalany, the tallest player on the court at 186 cm, had several key blocks.

Egypt took their first lead of the night early in the second set. However, Peru tied the game at four, and scored six more points in row to build the lead. Vivian Baella dominated, recording six points in the game. Clarivett Yllescas had several powerful kills for Peru. Aya Elshamy led Egypt with five points in the set.
