You only have one life and it's important to live it the way that you want to live it. You are not some cog in a machine; nor are you someone else's bitch. If you want to grow a beard, then grow a beard. If you want to travel the world, then travel the world.

All too often we put other people before ourselves which ultimately leads to long term struggles, unhappiness, and a less fulfilling life. Only you spend 100% of your time with you and it's important that you are taken care of. When you have looked after yourself first, then you'll have the energy, focus, and resolve to help others and make the world better.

In addition to that, your life is in your control and no one else's. If there are things that you want in life, then go and do it. Quit making excuses and instead make priorities. It's ok to set your own personal priorities and base your actions on those; but don't fool yourself into thinking that something is going to happen without you making an effort to do it.
