Female representation is lacking everywhere and esports is no exception with gaps in all professions of the sector. We are seeing some changes here and there but there is still a huge gap especially in the competitive scene. There could be mixed teams or all girls teams competing against all boys teams in the same league without issue since there is no differentiating factor here. The treatment that women get is also in need of improvement as gender is not a determining factor of competence.

We can make a change bit by bit with efforts like those of Cristina such as her research and her being there despite the negative comments as she said during our stream! We’ll be definitely discussing this topic further in one of our Backstage Esports episodes.
