Shepard Smith's nighttime show axed by CNBC

Описание к видео Shepard Smith's nighttime show axed by CNBC

After two years, CNBC is ending Shepard Smith's nightly programme because its new president said he wanted to concentrate on the network's primary strength, business reporting.

Later this month, Smith, who is departing the network, will have his final programme. He was unable to comment right away.

According to CNBC, Shepard Smith's show has the most wealthy viewership of any nightly cable news programme. This year, his show averaged 222,000 viewers, a little down from 2021. In comparison, MSNBC's Joy Reid and Fox News' Jesse Watters both got 1.3 million viewers during the same time period on Tuesday. Smith was persuaded to join CNBC by Mark Hoffman, a prior CEO.

Smith left Fox in 2019 after having an altercation with Tucker Carlson, Fox's rising opinion personality, after working there since the network's founding in 1996. He had hosted a Fox programme at 7 o'clock for numerous years, but it had been shifted to the afternoon.
