After a run, the car comes straight back to the pits and gets torn down. Engine out, clutch out, heads off, valves checked, rods inspected, bearings swapped, clutch pack rebuilt, fuel system serviced—everything is inspected and refreshed because 12,000+ horsepower on 90% nitromethane doesn’t forgive mistakes.

Teams have roughly 60–90 minutes to completely rebuild the car, warm it up, and get it back to the staging lanes for the next round. That warm-up isn’t for show—it’s a controlled explosion to check timing, fuel flow, clutch setup, and data before strapping the driver back in.

Then it’s back to the line, strap in, stage, and send it—330+ mph in under four seconds, riding the edge of traction, engine life, and physics itself.
