Here's Alexander Hamilton, a critical cog in the machine that made the United States of America. I decided to use instruments of the time for that colonial sound. I hope you enjoy it!

Lyrics:
January 11th, ‘55
Or ‘57 the one?
Out of wedlock, Alexander came, orphaned he would become
Through tutoring and books, Hamilton learned to read and write
An essay he wrote impressed
Left for New York, then, to fight
His war of words, then served as a colonel on the battlefield
Was an aid to Washington, then, served till Britain’s fate was sealed
Interlude
In ‘80, wed Elizabeth, eight children, she would bore
In ‘82, as a lawyer and as rep, he’d take the floor
He, the Articles of Confederation, wanted replaced
With a larger central government to protect the public faced
With abuse of power from states
A new document, he planned
Wrote Federalist articles to defend it ‘cross the land
Chorus
Alexander Hamilton, Founding Father, USA
His logic grew a nation
But emotion mired his way
The Constitution, he championed
And, in ‘89, was done
President Washington gave him the
Treasury slot to run
He established the U.S. Mint
And the U.S. Central Bank
The founding of Political parties
We have him to thank
After Hamilton left office
He maintained his influence
Tried manipulating outcomes
And met with much resistance
Interlude
One night, Hamilton insulted Aaron Burr, the VP
Who then challenged him to a duel in Weehawken, New Jersey
July 11th of ‘04, they met, took aim and fired
Hamilton fell from his lethal wound, and the next day, expired
The Constitution, money and banking was his legacy
And for our system of government, he made history
