Every day is Earth Day at Brookfield Zoo, but today, April 21, the zoo hoped it made an impact on this very special day by having people not only thinking "green" but also black and white as it raises awareness about endangered Grevy's zebras. This year's Earth Day celebration featured fun-filled activities for the entire family, including electronic recycling, live musical performances, crafts, tree and seed plantings, tours of the Clean Air Club Bus, animal Zoo Chats, and more.

Before entering the zoo guests were able to recycle their unwanted electronics. Once inside they were able to visit the Eco Expo, where representatives from ecofriendly companies shared the latest environmentally friendly products in their fields and discuss tips on how to use them.

Zoogoers also shared their conservation-inspired artistry by helping create a sidewalk chalk mural. And, everyone was able to climb aboard the whimsically decorated Clean Air Club Bus, where they discovered ways to help the environment.

At the Bison Pavilion, guests enjoyed a live green-themed performance by the Hillside Bluejay Chorus and members from the local band Recycle the Day also entertained guests with some "recycled" head bobbin' feet stompin' music from the 70s to today.

Several animal Zoo Chats took place throughout the event, including one that highlighted Grevy's zebras.
