FUZZ FRENZY pt5: Envelope filter fuzzes - Dreadbox Disorder & Walrus Audio Kangra

Описание к видео FUZZ FRENZY pt5: Envelope filter fuzzes - Dreadbox Disorder & Walrus Audio Kangra

Hello, and welcome to my Fuzz Frenzy! This is a five-part filth odyssey, exploring some of the great fuzz types in comparative pairs.

I've used the same rig and played the same basic riffs for all five videos, so you can also compare across different types.

For the final demo in the series, we're looking at a couple of fuzzes with envelope-following filters - that is, EQ-manglers that shift their tonal focus according to signal level. And for two pedals doing the same job, the Dreadbox Disorder and Walrus Audio Kangra could hardly be more different.

The Kangra is a truly nasty fuzz (a lot like the Fredric in pt4) with a fairly restrained filter circuit; the Disorder is a tasteful fuzz that goes in a lot harder on the filtering. I love the Dreadbox, but it betrays the company's background in synthesizers by having CV patch points instead of an expression pedal input - which, for a guitar pedal, is a bit like a car having a built-in toaster instead of a steering wheel.
