American Petroleum Institute (API) Standard 65 (ISOLATING OF POTENTIAL ZONES DURING WELL CONSTRUCTION) provides the requirements for Well Barriers
International Association of Drilling Contractors or IADC defines Well barriers as:
System of one or several well barrier elements that contain fluids within a well to prevent uncontrolled flow of fluids within or out of the well.
