Electric Guitar Customization and Upgrade - Replace volume and tone pots with On/Off & Kill Switch

In this video I upgrade and customize a really nice Laguna electric guitar that I found at the flea market for one dollar. The guitar had some electronics issues but the body and neck were perfect. I have wanted to build this project guitar for some time now and since I only have $1.00 invested I felt that I could take the risk. I pretty much gut the electronics. I replace the volume pot with an on/off switch and then the tone pot with a kill switch. I also install an upgraded output jack. All parts were purchase on Amazon. The video takes you step by step through the process. The finished product looks cool and sounds great. There is a 60 day update at the of the video. I explain a couple of issues that I had to correct, I explain the wiring after installation of the 500k resistor and do a demo with the resistor installed for comparison to the demo before the resistor installation.


I am not a professional musician or guitar tech. I'm not in a band. I'm not even that good of a player but I still enjoy playing and look forward to improving! I am sharing this video not only to show you my project but also in case there are other guitarist out there who were thinking about doing something like this but are having a hard time finding the information. Or, it may inspire someone to try it out.
