Restoration: $3 Trowel

I picked up this trowel at Restore a while back for $3. I think I can get at least 50 cents for it now ;)

It had some rust, a lot of pitting, a loose collar, and a dry, rough handle. I couldn't get it as good as I wanted it, but I think it turned out pretty well. I started by disassembling it, and then removing the rust. After that, it was a lot of sanding. The pitting was pretty bad and I think if I sanded it all the way out, it would have been too thin.

This is my first restoration, and my first video. If I had to guess, I'd say I have about 6-8 hours into this project, over about a week and a half. The sanding took the longest, followed by the polishing/buffing.


I enjoy hearing feedback, especially specific things I can do better either in terms of the restoration or in terms of the video.
