Algarve's Largest Sandy Beach! - Olhos de Água, Armação de Pêra (Van Life Portugal 2022)

After a great stay in the Faro airport parking lot we hit the road towards Olhos de Água - a mere 30kms further west along the coast. The bad weather from the previous week continued but we had patches of glorious sunshine to fully appreciate the wonderful Algarve coast.

Historically Olhos de Água started life as a fishing village, but since the boom of tourism along the Algarve it has developed into a popular holiday destination. It has some of Portugals fines coastline with the magnificent Praia da Falesia being the largest sandy beach of the central Algarve. Backed by orange cliffs and pristine natural scenery you will find good waves for surfing, scenic cliff-top footpaths and vast expanses of beach to escape any crowd.

En-route to Olhos de Água we visited Algarve Rock Brewery which produces a range of quality craft brews. They currently offer 8 styles of beer (available form they tap room or ordered online). You can also visit the brewery for a tour with appointment which is combined with a guided tasting.
