STORYLINE:
The Kuwaiti Royal family extended its condolences at the American embassy in Kuwait City on Saturday as flags at the embassy continued to fly at half mast.
The Kuwaiti Crown Prince Amir Sheikh Jaber Ahmed Al Jaber Al Sabah and the Kuwaiti Prime Minister Sheikh Saad Al Abdullah Al Salem Al Sabah were greeted by William Munroe - the Embassy's Charge d'Affairs at the U.S embassy.
Also Saturday, Kuwait's Defence Minister expressed his sorrow for the thousands of victims of the attack on the World Trade Centre and the Pentagon during a visit to a US military facility in Kuwait on Saturday.
Jaber Mobarak el Sabas addressed a roomful of U-S soldiers and offered his condolences.
U.S soldiers also spoke of their sadness and said they were ready to follow the President's instructions to take action.
Meanwhile, in another gesture to show support to the U.S, Kuwaiti civilians donated blood to assist survivors of Tuesday's attacks in New York and Washington.
As hopes of finding survivors dwindle - the gesture will probably prove more symbolic than practical.
Donors said they were giving blood as a mark of gratitude for the U.S involvement in the Gulf War after the Iraqi invasion in 1990.
