Watch my bus journey from Bangalore to Kodaikanal by KSRTC Airavat Volvo B9R manual bus. This is my first journey to Kodaikanal by KSRTC Airavat Club Class Volvo. You get private and KSRTC buses to Kodaikanal. There's one Airavat and one sleeper bus of KSRTC operating on this route. Our bus was a 10:15 pm bus from Shanthinagar bus stand. However, our bus had tyre puncture so arrived Shanthinagar at 10:55 pm (almost 45 mins late). The bus fare was Rs. 880 and the distance is 465 kms from Bangalore to Kodaikanal. This is our wedding anniversary trip and hence decided to go to Kodaikanal as had never gone there before. The morning views from the ghats is really beautiful. The Kodai Ghat is a narrow & beautiful ghat. We got stuck in between as there was no space for our bus and the opposite TNSTC bus to pass. We had to reverse the mighty Airavat on the ghat to allow the TNSTC bus to pass. The bus reached the Kodaikanal bus stand by 8:55 am. Scheduled time to reach was 7:45 am but because it had come late, we reached the destination accordingly. The buses also passes through the Kodaikanal Wildlife Sanctuary. I hope you enjoy the video.
