🛠️ DIY instructions 🛠️
Step 1: Choose the right pumpkin
Select a pumpkin with a flat base. The size will depend on your preference, but make sure it's big enough to comfortably fit the door and windows. Make sure the it's a fresh pumpkin. It should be solid to the touch. Avoid ones that have soft spots or sunken areas, as decay has already set in. Selecting good quality produce will ensure that your fairy house pumpkin will be long lasting. High quality pumpkins have a firm, hard rind and are generally rich orange in color.

Step 2: Carve the pumpkin and create window openings
Carefully cut off the top of the pumpkin to create a lid. You can either make a straight cut or a jagged, decorative edge. Scoop out the seeds and pulp from inside the pumpkin using a spoon or your hands. Then, using a carving tool or a sharp knife, create openings for the windows by carefully cutting out circular shapes where you want them to be.

Step 3: Preserve the pumpkin with a Lemon Water Mixture (Optional)
Create a mixture of 1 part lemon juice to 10 parts water.
Using a spray bottle, thoroughly spray both the interior and exterior of the carved pumpkin.
The citric acid in the lemon juice helps inhibit mold and decay.
Allow the pumpkin to air dry before proceeding to the next steps.

Step 4: Create the door and windows
For the door, take one of the wooden rings and glue the wooden craft sticks vertically to it. Optionally, you can paint the door to add some color. Allow it to dry if you choose to paint it. Additionally, cut a 3mm piece from the wooden dowels and glue it to the door as a door handle.

To make the windows, glue the Halloween cutouts onto the wooden rings you've prepared for the windows. Arrange and attach the cutouts as you desire to create charming window designs.

Step 5: Attach the door and windows
Apply craft glue around the edges of the wooden door and windows and carefully press them into the holes you created in the pumpkin. Hold them in place until the glue sets.

Step 6: Add moss
Using craft glue, attach moss around the edges of the door and windows to cover any gaps and create a more natural look. You can also add moss to the top of the pumpkin to create a thatched roof appearance.

Step 8: Display your pumpkin fairy house
Place the string of fairy lights inside the pumpkin. Find a suitable spot to display your pumpkin fairy house, whether it's indoors or outdoors. When it gets dark, turn on the fairy lights to make your creation glow in the dark.

Your pumpkin fairy house, made with the materials you specified, is now complete! It's a whimsical addition to your Halloween or fall decor, and it will enchant both kids and adults with its magical glow and charming wooden details.
