Climb aboard as we visit the Brick Mountain Railroad. In mid Connecticut there is a family who has built their own private railroad with 7.25”gauge and 16” trackage. Situated on the top of a hill, there’s lots of opportunity for grades, cuts, trestles, and fills. Tehapachi Loop is replicated in 1/8th size. The Royal Gorge cut is the result of massive earthworks, again for 1/8th sized trains. There are too many bridges to describe here, but sharp eyes will note the famous Hell Gate Bridge.
