The Polish president, Andrzej Duda, wins another term in office after narrowly defeating his liberal opponent and mayor of Warsaw, Rafał Trzaskowski. Duda won with 51.2% of votes with almost all the ballots counted, while Trzaskowski gained 48.8%. Duda’s campaign labelled Trzaskowski as an ‘extremist’ and criticised his support of LGBT rights
