Changing the belts on the Westerbeke 3.5 SBCG marine generator on out 2019 26’ Regal XO boat.

What a chitshow! Who designed this generator? Putting the belts in an inaccessible location UNDER the motor! Westerbeke also charges nearly $300 for the belt kit but I found a cheaper off the shelf replacement which was only $30 which should work just as well.

Sorry for the long video for a simple job, but there is nothing simple about working on this generator. Most mechanics pull the generator from the boat with a crane to change the belt. I’ll show you how I did it leaving it in the bilge.
