Just for fun guys and gals. I was out on my morning gypsum run and decided to try each weapon combo I had on me and ordered them from worst to best. Obviously this is not very scientific but it does highlight how strong certain weapon combos are vs other in PVE.

As you can see, FS, hammer and bow (also GA) are pretty underperforming in PVE. (some mutation boss encounters are easier with ranged however)

Hammer and GA are primarily CC weapons.

Some caveats for leveling - Rapier is mostly a single target weapon while GS does better with adds or clumps. Hatchet is a good all arounder especially paired with spear.
