You can observe how important it is to get the ropes made fast when tying up a Paddle Steamer.There is a delay in getting the head line ashore and the breeze quickly blows the bow away from the pier. This could be expected with any Paddle Steamer when she is stopped and not making way.
In 2014 the upper aft part of her hull was incorrectly painted white instead of cream.
The two toned hull colour is very clear in this video. Waverley sailed like this for the whole 2014 season.
