Today, i.e. 5th July is the death anniversary of Shri Hari Sitaram alias Kakasaheb Dixit ji, the supreme devotee of Sai. The entire life of Shri Kakasaheb Dixit ji, his stories and experiences with Baba are very unique, interesting and at the same time a guide for all of us Sai devotees. He was born in the year 1864 in a reputed 'Nagar Brahmin' family of Khandwa. He was a leading solicitor of Mumbai in his time. Apart from this, he was an MLC. He was a corporator in the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) and was also a member of the Senate of Mumbai University. Because he was a very influential person, at that time he was involved in many political and social events. In the year 1909, he came to Shirdi for the first time with Shyama on the advice of Shri Nanasaheb Chandorkar. The Dixit Wada, in which the 'Shirdi Sai Museum' of Sai Baba's original items is today, was also built by Shri Kakasaheb. Shri Kakasaheb Dixit ji died during a train journey in Mumbai on the day of Ekadashi on 5th July 1926.
