Southern Style Shrimp and Grits l Easy Recipe - This recipe is very easy to make and can be made by seasoned cooks or beginners. Southern Style Shrimp and Grits is a staple in the south as well as New Orleans. It's considered Cajun and southern cooking. Southern Style Shrimp and Grits l Easy Recipe
// INGREDIENTS
-1 lb. medium to large peeled and deveined shrimp (preferably tail off, your choice)
-1/2 cup milk
-2 cups grits
-1/2 stick unsalted butter
-1/2 tablespoon salt
-1/2 tablespoon ground black pepper
-1/2 tablespoon onion and garlic powder
-1 tablespoon old bay seasoning
-1/2 lb. thick cut smoked bacon
-1/2 tablespoon dry thyme leaves
-1/2 cup bell peppers
-1/2 cup onions
-1 tablespoon fresh garlic
-1/4 cup scallions
-1/2 lemon juiced
-1/2 tablespoon garlic & herb seasoning (optional)
-2 cups chicken broth
-1 cup shredded sharp cheddar
