Описание к видео Guitar Hero Live vs Rock Band 4 Two Months Later: What is Better?

Almost Two Months After both Guitar Hero Live and Rock Band 4 have come out, which is better and which one are you playing more of? My thoughts in the video

Forbes Article Guitar Hero Live vs Rock Band 4

http://www.forbes.com/sites/jasonevan...

"The Music Rhythm genre is once again alive and well with two quality entries, but rare is the household (or bank account) that can accommodate both. As part of our new holiday series at Forbes — Gift This, Not That — I’m here to help people still sitting anxiously on the fence decide between Harmonix’ Rock Band 4 and Activision’s Guitar Hero Live.

After a 5 year absence, Rock Band 4 finds Harmonix revisiting their award-winning gameplay formula while adding some iterative improvements, and sticking to the familiar cartoony graphics and enthusiastic animations the series is known for. Meanwhile, Activision took a noteworthy risk with Guitar Hero Live by radically redesigning the 5-button guitar controller we’ve grown comfortable with since 2005, and by shifting to a live video (old-schoolers might call it FMV) concert presentation.

Interestingly, both games hit the market lacking core features from their previous entries. Guitar Hero Live — technically a reboot of the series — stripped away drums and bass, while Rock Band 4 launched without online multiplayer, Practice Mode, or the ability to create custom setlists. To Harmonix’ credit, Rock Band 4 is an evolving platform they’ll continue to improve upon, beginning with a free December 8th update adding asynchronous multiplayer capabilities, improved leaderboards, a new “Brutal” gameplay mode, and more.

The brilliance of Rock Band is that it represents many things to many different people, and can be experienced in a variety of ways from ultra casual to hardcore. Labeling it as a “video game” simply doesn’t do it justice. For some it’s a portal into music discovery, and a path to gaining new appreciation for songs that don’t register a blip on their everyday radar. To others it’s a fantasy. A platform for escapism and expression and rocking out with careless abandon. It’s social glue; a fantastic excuse to have a party. It’s an endless buffet of personal challenges to overcome and scores to conquer on a variety of instruments. It’s therapeutic, it’s cathartic.

You could apply some of these things to Guitar Hero Live as well, but where Rock Band 4 pulls away is player choice and its abundance of expressive gameplay options. Do you love playing rhythm guitar but fall apart during difficult, technical solos? Switch to Freestyle Guitar Mode and unleash your own solos, which magically sound great and put the emphasis more on creative expression than technical mastery. Think you can do a better job than the original singer? Stray outside the lines and belt out your own melody — as long as it’s in the same key, it counts. Maybe you’re intimidated by drums, and the bass pedal in particular? Or maybe you have a child who can’t get all their limbs on the same page just yet. A new feature called “Auto-Kick” lets you just concentrate on the pads while the game handles the kick drum pedal. If you’re a beginner, simply switch on “No Fail Mode” and enjoy yourself free of any pressure." - Forbes
