Fair Employment Practices

Описание к видео Fair Employment Practices

Many state and local governments or municipalities have employee management regulations known as fair employment practice laws. Fair employment practice laws are state and local government employee management regulations.

These laws are often more stringent than the federal government’s regulations. When these regulations exist, the more stringent regulations are to be followed. If the state laws are less stringent, then the federal regulations must be followed.

Differences between state and local laws and federal laws can exist in all aspects of the employer–employee relationship, from minimum wage to protected classifications. Managers need to be sure that they are familiar with and abide by the laws of the states in which they work. Information about the regulations for each state is readily available online from each state’s labor department.
