Understanding breast cancer, the world's most prevalent type of cancer among adults

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. With more than 2.3 million cases diagnosed globally each year, the World Health Organization marks the occasion to raise awareness and promote access to early diagnoses and timely and effective treatments.
