‼️ Save this for your next Iceland trip! Seljalandsfoss is one of those places that doesn’t feel real when you’re standing there. The waterfall drops from a tall green cliff, mist drifting through the air, and the whole scene looks like something from a movie set instead of real life. What makes this spot so special is the path that loops behind the falls. You can walk right along the rock wall with water thundering in front of you, giving one of the coolest perspectives in all of Iceland. On a sunny day you’ll usually catch rainbows in the spray, and at sunset the light turns the cliffs golden. It’s located along the south coast about 1 hour and 45 minutes from Reykjavik, and it’s an easy stop right off the Ring Road. The walk around the falls is short but can be slippery from the mist, so shoes with good grip and a rain jacket make a huge difference. Just a few minutes down the trail you can also visit Gljúfrabúi, a hidden waterfall tucked inside a canyon that many people miss. Go early morning or late evening if you want smaller crowds, especially in summer.
