The Republican race to the White House has effectively become a two-person race, after Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis suspended his campaign on Sunday, less than two days before the New Hampshire primary

He’s thrown his weight behind former U.S. president Donald Trump, which could further solidify the front runner's position.

“It's clear to me that a majority of Republican primary voters want to give Donald Trump another chance,” DeSantis said in a video message posted to the social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter. “He has my endorsement because we can't go back to the old Republican guard of yesteryear — a repackaged form of warmed-over corporatism — that Nikki Haley represents.”
