Fun fact: My wife and I were living in our little apartment in Toronto when I was working on Open Water. I was trying my hardest to come up with melodies. I was getting frustrated and couldn’t seem to come up with anything that sounded good. So I asked the best songwriter I know (Lights) if she could help me with it. She agreed. Right there on the spot she hummed the melodies that would become the verse and chorus. I then added lyrics and the rest is history. 10 years later it still hits 🌊
