This week's School Spotlight is Randall Richard, a French teacher at Vidor High School, has been recognized for his positive impact on students and colleagues. Richard, who also serves as the foreign language department head and assistant tennis coach, was nominated for his dedication and influence.

Richard spent 34 years teaching history and coaching football before transitioning to teach French. He said, "I'm getting a chance to kind of reconnect with my Cajun roots, get back to the use that French I took in high school and college. And it's been a blessing to be able to, kind of preserve the Cajun heritage in Cajun culture, like a hopefully like, you know, make, make my mom and my grandma proud."

Community members are encouraged to nominate other outstanding teachers or school staff by emailing Arc Southeast Texas at kdm.com. Nominations are open throughout the semester.
