My name is Jacqueline Bush and I am an editorial and celebrity hair stylist. My clientele has included Faith Hill, Mark Ruffalo, Terrence Howard, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jane Krakowski. I want to be able to show you that hair isn't as intimidating or as hard as you think it is and I want you to be able to have fun with it and do what your vision is with your hair.



Dry shampoo is used for a couple of different things. I love this; it's something I carry in my kit every day with me. It's great if you just finished working out and you don't want to wash your hair and another good reason to use it is it give extra volume and lift to the hair. Also, it can even, there's dry shampoos that they make with a little color. So say you want your blonde to be a little blonder, there are some blonde dry shampoos, the same with brunettes. If you haven't gotten your color touched up, you can put a little bit of that in there and it can help with covering those grays.



Today I'm going to use it on Monica because she's got very fine hair and I want to give her a little extra lift. I'm actually going to take the shampoo through the ends as well because it's going to give that volume all around, not just at the roots. I like this dry shampoo, it's by Rene Furterer, they make this one and a brand called Klorane which are my favorites, I can't live without this product. OK and so what I'm going to do is I'm going to apply this product to Monica's hair, which as you noticed is already dry. If you apply dry shampoo to wet hair, it's not going to work well and get the outcome that you want.



So just starting at her roots, you don't have to be very specific but just roots to ends. If there's a particular part that I want, like say right in there it looks a little bit greasier for me, so I'm going to make sure to go right in there. Now, for those of you guys who are using this for an option of how to look a little bit fresher after a workout, you want to make sure you hit the ends and the front of you hair really well. So, I'm going to give a little bit of extra of that for Monica. The next thing I'm going to do, is I'm going to take my blow dryer and I'm going to blow dry it in on a medium setting, not too hot and not too cold and it doesn't have to be too strong for this. Now, if you noticed as I was blow drying in the product I didn't use a brush with it at the beginning because for her what I want is to give her that extra volume and it's OK if you rough dry, your not really specific and you're just using your hands, being rough with the hair that's what's going to help that, really work that product in and give it that lift that you want in addition to absorbing any extra oils that you don't want in your hair. After that, if you want to smooth it out, you can take a flat brush, I use a Mason Pearson, you can use a paddle brush, you don't have to use exactly what I use and you're just going to brush it through. Now for Monica, as I mentioned, I wanted that extra volume and I wanted to brush it through just so the product, just to make sure is distributed evenly. To get that volume back, all I'm going to do is take my hands at the root of the hair, give it a little extra lift and fluff it into place.
