How to Bulk Dye and Soften Sola Wood Flowers

I absolutely love SolaWoodFlowers and making easy, forever lasting flower arrangements, bouquets, decor and more....the process of creating with Sola Wood Flowers, especially if you'd like beautiful customized colors, is the dry time of dying! So, what I do for dying sola wood flowers is batch coloring or bulk dying so I can just have freedom to whip up arrangements as I go without having to wait 24 hours for dry time.

In this video I show you how we used water, sola wood flower dye, sola wood softener to create all these beautiful colors and fun!

If you do not have sola wood flower dye or sola wood softener, you CAN use Acrylic Crafters Paint, Vegetable Glycerin and Water combined...I do not love the results the same as with the SolaWood Dyes and softeners, but it does work.

Also, a REALLY fun thing we do is double dip the flowers in two different colors to create ombre sola wood flower petals, and also add additional depth.

Finally, as the dye starts running out in the cups, instead of wasting the little bits left, we blend custom colors mixing orange and brown together or the red into the blue color...just fun to create custom colors and see what happens, even if the colors turn a little "muddy" sometimes it looks really beautiful on the wood flowers, especially the "skinned" sola wood flowers.

What is skinned and what is skinless sola wood?

Skinned means the sola wood flowers have the outer layer of wood, creating parking layers in the rolled flower, its kinda like the bark on a stick is the skin and the inside is lighter....same with SolaWood.....so skinless or naked sola wood, is just the inside light parts of wood.
