Fishing for the Bullhead Minnow. I was fishing the shoreline of the Wisconsin River in Prairie Du Sac and noticed a large group of minnows. These were bullhead minnows which are native to the Mississippi River watershed. They are also prevalent in many river systems that are near the Gulf Coast. This fish is number 12 in the series that I'll probably be working on until the day that I die. The Bullhead Minnow - Scientific Name: Pimephales vigilax. The goal is to catch 1000 different fish species, and today I am chasing a minnow that I see all the time on the Wisconsin River. They can be caught with a very tiny tanago hook and a bit of wax worm.
