A potential disaster was averted at Delhi Airport when a SWISS International Air Lines Airbus A330 (Flight LX 146) had to abort landing just 1400 feet above the ground due to another aircraft occupying the runway.

The incident occurred around 11:40 PM, when a flight from Phuket (an A320) landed just before the SWISS jet but stayed on the runway longer than expected. The A320 failed to exit via the rapid taxiway (Y1) and instead took Y2, increasing runway occupancy time and creating a dangerous situation.

Air Traffic Control (ATC) acted quickly and instructed the SWISS aircraft to go around, preventing a possible runway collision. The aircraft landed safely on its second approach at 11:51 PM. 🙏
