We are very pleased to offer this ornate antique walnut wood hide-away or Murphy-style bed with a brass plate on the footboard that reads 'Windsor Folding Bed Pat. June 9th, 1885.' The back is stamped 'No. 142.' This wonderful piece of furniture features a beveled mirror in the center which is surrounded by a beautifully carved arch. It has a brass handle on the right side for raising and lowering the bed. When properly balanced with weights(which are included), it is easy for one person to operate using only one hand.

The piece has the following dimensions: 81 5/8" tall x 58 1/4" wide x 28 1/2" deep (when in folded position). The size of the beveled mirror: 39 3/8" tall x 17 5/16" wide. The space for the mattress is 52" wide x 76" long. A modern mattress will be too thick to store inside of the bed when folded.

This piece is pre-owned. The mirror has some large scratches and has one spot where the silver is missing. There is one piece of wood trim and a small piece of one carved area that are missing. One of the feet has a brass cap and the other is missing. The bottom lower left frame was cracked at some point and has been repaired. A chip remains out of the wood and a metal plate is in place to secure the pieces. Most of these are pictured. Additional pictures are available upon request.
