CHASEWATER RAILWAY 'MOVING THE GOODS WEEKEND' 13th OCTOBER 2019

Whilst the forecast for Sunday 13th was for heavy rain with a moderate wind it turned out to be showery with bright skies later, for a while! I decided to take a chance and film in the morning, parking my car near the crossing gates at Brownhills West so that I could shelter under the hatch if necessary. Although this tied me to filming the Brownhills yard it suited my purpose as my friend, Brian Murphy, SYKAROST, had covered the far end of the line most comprehensively the previous day. I could see no point in duplicated his excellent videos so settled on arrivals and departures at Brownhills plus shunting in the yard. As it turned out there was not too much rain and I was happy to film from 11-00am until 2-15pm. During this time I had covered most of the operating cycle including the gala debut of an attractive 0-4-0 Waleswood. My thanks, as always, to the 'Friendly Line', more correctly known as 'The Colliery Line'. If you are ever in the Cannock/Brownhills area of South Staffordshire I strongly recommend a visit to this attractive line in the Chasewater Country Park.
