There are SO many delicious varieties of habaneros out there, and in my opinion it is the best family of peppers that have a good amount of heat and a wealth of flavor. While magnum orange habanero, caribbean red habanero and chocolate habanero are my top 3 there are a few other worthwhile shout-outs that deliver delicious peppers:

1. Red Savina Habanero - This is a spicier red habanero, that sits just below the chocolate habanero in spice and also has a bit of the sweetness that you would expect from a red habanero. If I were to make a top 4 this would be the 4th, and if you want to marry the sweetness of the caribbean red habanero with roughly the spiciness of a chocolate habanero this is a wonderful variety.
2. Big Sun Habanero - These are slightly larger orange habaneros than the Magnum Orange variety, and while they are equally delicious I found them to be a bit slower growing and less productive without any huge increase in flavor. They are marginally hotter than a normal orange habanero, but otherwise it’s mostly just a thing of size.
3. Peach Habanero - While these peppers were significantly smaller than other orange habaneros I’ve grown they have arguably the prettiest color of any habanero, and while the flavor isn’t a huge point of differentiation they are a beautiful thing to grow and harvest.

I have also grown Datils, Golden Habaneros, Mayan Red Habaneros, Lemon Habaneros, Scotch Bonnets, Spicy Mustard Habaneros, Sweet Yellow Habaneros, and a few others that I can’t recall but the moral of the story is that habaneros are wonderful and you should grow them. #growpeppers #peppergrower #spicyfoodlover #habanero #gardeneducation #gardening101
