In this week's tutorial we cover how we at KeenDog add the e collar to help solidify the place command. It is important that your dog should already have a solid understanding of place before adding this tool on.

Shout out to Tyler Muto of K9 Connection for teaching us at a seminar the escape/avoidance technique we use when adding the e collar to the place.

Shout out to Mark Kotula of Whole Nine K9 for teaching us what a difference it makes when you go back to your dog to release them off of the place vs doing it from a distance. This provides a consistent picture to your dog that really strengthens their knowledge of staying on the place until released happens when you return to them.

We recommend that majority of the time you release with a calm release command - such as we use free, no reward. However, in the beginning stages or if your dog is a little unsure of a new place, you can build confidence, enthusiasm and excitement by using one of your terminal markers.
