In this requested video, I respond to recent criticism I have received from English for Everyone, a YouTube channel that focuses extensively (and almost exclusively) on critiquing the English-language content of others. At the time of filming this video, EFE had published 3 YouTube videos on me, and they have published a 4th video since that time. I strongly believe that you will see more videos by EFE on me in the future. The video you are about to watch will provide you with important information, so please watch carefully.

I initially believed that EFE published their “mistakes” videos with good intentions and that they had English language learners’ best interests in mind. However, I now believe that EFE is employing confusing, deceptive, and ultimately, harmful pedagogical (teaching) methods in an attempt to present themselves as the absolute authority in the English learning sphere on YouTube.

In this video, I am joined by Dave from Dave’s English. Dave and I have collaborated in the past and have published a video on English mistakes made by non-native English speakers on Instagram (link below). Dave has published several videos about EFE, and you can check them out on his YouTube channel (link below).

Our credentials, for the sake of transparency: Dave and I are professionals working in the field of education. Dave is an American and native English speaker, and is a CELTA-certified (Cambridge University) English teacher. He is the owner of Just Say it English, a tutoring company that offers one-on-one English lessons (link below). I am a Canadian and native English speaker, and I hold a Master’s degree in English Literature and have experience working as a university teaching assistant. I am currently completing my PhD (Doctorate degree) in English Literature, and I work as an English tutor at a college, where I assist ESL learners with academic writing.

In this video, we analyze some of the supposed “mistakes” that EFE claim I have made in their 3 YouTube videos about me.
